Scattering amplitudes experts watch out: The Center for Quantum Mathematics and Physics (QMAP) at the University of California offers a series of virtual workshops called „Geomplitudes“. The second workshop will take place on February 8-9, 2021.
The aim of this series is to bring together experts in the field of scattering amplitudes and positive geometries for two-day meetings, with pedagogical tutorials and informal discussions. Recent years have shown a surprising array of relationships between scattering amplitudes and positive geometries, a formulation of physics where the dictates of spacetime and quantum mechanics are not taken as primary, but rather arise from more primitive mathematical notions. The third meeting is planned for Spring 2021. The first workshop was hold in September last year.
QMAP fosters a research environment for addressing foundational questions in modern theoretical and mathematical physics. They seek to understand the wheels within wheels of our Universe. Read more about it
